MOIRANG is the place in Manipur where Headquarter of India National Army (INA) was located during Second World War in 1944. The INA overpowered the mighty British forces on the mainland of India by capturing important places of CHURACHANDPUR, MOIRANG and IMPHAL of the present MANIPUR State. To celebrate this historic victory, INA hoisted the TRI - COLOUR (Flag of free India) at its HQ at MOIRANG, on 14th April 1944.
Considering the historic importance of this great victory, the ABPSSP undertakes a YATRA to MOIRANG (MANIPUR), every year, to participate in various programmes organised by the Manipur State Government there to commemorate this historic event which also happens to be their State Day.
